Abstract
The object of this work, is the study of a plain trussed arch, made up the alternated superposition of sawn lumber sutions, in the form of boards of slats with a roughly plained finish. The structure, was conceived with an original geometrical design, preserting a framed combination of posts and beams with alternative ways of fixing the lateral sheeting either internally or externally, with special consideration of the climatic condition in the state of Amazonas. The beam allows for options in ventilation, for example with openings at the peak and edges of the structure, using divers forms by lengthening some of the beams but always protecting the lateral wall from direct solar rays and common rains. Ince the structive is not massif, it was calculated on the basis of the strength materials with adjustments worked out to permit the plain performance of the bars. Eleven experimental tests were conducted on a scale model of 1:3. Stouting from the geometrically idealized form. The structure was repeated loaded and at each instance, the necessary construction details were introduced, according to the needs of project, this transforming the idealized structure into the calculated structure. Another final load fests were carried out in order to ostain the main values for the strains and stresses. Bond to permit the comparison with the theoretical data, loading the structure subsequently until the rupture. The experimental data were studied and analyzed in the light of the laws of similitude by dimensional analysis, and the comparison between the working stresses on model under since load and those calculated on the basis of experimental data the overage difference of 5%. These was considered a very satisfactory result. All the initial hypothesis were completely satisfied and the structure presented a gain factory of 7,7 (seven point seven) for accidental loads the relation to the accidental load of the model a gain factor of 2,5 (two point five) for the total load, admitting the permanent and the accidental load as a constant.
